Singleness in Christ = Fullness in Christ (1)

Being single in your 25th makes me a bit insecure. Scrolling my social media feed like instagram or facebook sometimes makes me a step backwards, in which many of your-same-age friends have been engaged, married, and having children, succeed makes me uncomfortable and sometimes doubt God's sovereignty.

And then His words reminded me :

God tested Abraham’s faith. God told him to offer Isaac as a sacrifice. Abraham obeyed because he had faith. He already had the promises from God. And God had already said to him, “It is through Isaac that your descendants will come.” But Abraham was ready to offer his only son. He did this because he had faith.  He believed that God could raise people from deathAnd really, when God stopped Abraham from killing Isaac, it was as if he got him back from death. (Hebrews 11:17-19)

Abram put his trust in the LORD, and because of this the LORD was pleased with him and accepted him. (Genesis 15:6)

This reminds me that nothing happens without His permission. The only thing that pleases God is OUR FULLY TRUST in HIM in EVERYTHING.

And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him. (Hebrew 11:6)

isn't faith seeing the unseen?

Faith is not just believing that Jesus is the Lord, further, faith believes in His Sovereignty; it sees "the heavenly hands" works at every event of a man; it feels the deeper heart of God.

Abraham was almost 100 years old when God promised Him an offspring, of course it sounded silly, but when He did believe, it pleased God and He considered his response of faith as proof of genuine loyalty.

The singleness of course is not a curse. I think being single in your adulthood is the right time to have closer intimacy with God and know Him better. I think it is the range period, in which people get emotionally stable and mature thoughts. You can have more time to reading Bible and studying the Bible more often than when you have to date someone.

The deeper I know Jesus I know that it's not about our prayer comes true, nor His blessings, but it's about His presence & His peace, that guard our heart.

I have my favorite quote from John Piper :

\

I think this time God teach me to have Peace in Him alone before I get ready to have commitment with a man. I learn not to put my hope in a man nor my future husband. Regardless of our status "He is MOST GLORIFIED when we are MOST SATISFIED in HIM ALONE."

Amen.
