Reflection of Christmas 2020

Christmas this year is totally different from the previous years. Since corona-19 hit all countries, of course it is not that easy to hold gathering. Schools, churches, any entertaining places are closed, and moreover I'm single this year HAHAHA PERFECT!. However if we ponder upon it deeper, it instead brings back the core of Christmas.

How many of us when think of Christmas, we instead tend to think about the traditions and linked it to long holiday, Christmas tree, family, gifts, new dresses, big feast, or further Santa Clause as the guest star?

Christmas starts with CHRIST

We forget the core of Christmas that The LORD came down from heaven to the wicked world in THE MOST ORDINARY & HUMBLE WAY ?

and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no guest room available for them. (Luke 2:7)

As parents we must prepare the best things for our baby, from the place, where we will give birth, room, meals, and another baby equipment to be fulfilled. However The Prince of Heaven left the splendor of Heaven to come here born in a manger, in quietness, to dying & redeeming the sinners. He truly emptied Himself to the fullest for the wicked like us.

(Philippians 2:7) rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness.

(John 1:11) He came to his own people, and even they rejected him.

Modern Christmas always associates with glamour celebrations, family gathering, gifts, big feast, we forget that it was the time that the Father had to let His only Son to come to the broken world, dying and redeem the broken people like us.

(John 3:16) For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

I know this year is tough. We heard so many losses throughout the year. So, this, I will share valuable lessons from my life lesson this year especially the meaning of Christmas to me.

Christmas is about Jesus.

It does not deal with tradition nor its ornaments.

It reminds the hope for the hopeless.

It reminds the Light in the Darkness.

(Luke 2:10-11) But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord.

let our heart filled with His presence alone, sinking into His Grace & His Joy.

Amen

MERY CHRISTMAS 2020 & HAPPY NEW YEAR 2021.

Singleness in Christ = Fullness in Christ (2)

A week ago, I felt so low in spirit since I broke up with my boyfriend. I felt worried and honestly I hoped for a man to be my closest friend. I was waiting for someone's text and it made me forget to my main goal, which is to be full in Christ. Until my friend saw and said to me that I was unfocused lately, he reminded me again the reason why I broke up with my boyfriend because of spiritual disagreement so this is the perfect time for me to get more closer with Jesus than when I was in relationship with a man.

And it reminded me that God is actually able to give me a man right after I broke up, but is it my truly purpose that living only to get married, having children, and die? From the worldview, a normal cycle of a man is : work - married - having children - die. However friends, our purpose here is greater, if we understand the beauty of the redemption in Christ, we will understand that our calling is not to please nor fulfill our personal desire & ambition, however our truly purpose is to Glorify & Satisfy God at every second in our life.

God reminded me again through my friend that it's not His purpose for me right now to only waiting for the right person to live with, He doesn't want me to rely my joy on a man. His will is that I'm filled with His Grace alone, my joy comes from His presence alone. Regardless of my status right now, He wants me to be joyful with Him alone. I underline "alone" word in my previous sentence to emphasize only Christ ; nothing else is considered except Christ ; He is incomparable.

I remember when I read a blog about Adam & Eve, some of us might focus that it's the love story of Adam & Eve, however when we look deeper on Bible we truly find out that it's about the love story of God & Adam.

The LORD God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.” (Genesis 2:18)

It was not Adam as the first initiator, who begged for a woman. However it was God alone, who has initiated first to make a companion for Adam. Eve was the gift from God to Adam.

But in real life, we oftentimes worry like our worries could take part and add something to fulfill our desire. We doubt God's sovereignty, we focus on the gift instead of the Giver itself.

So I hope whoever read this writing, hope we are reminded again that His promises are not a perfect soulmate, comfort, wealthness, however His promise is Himself alone.  When you are in a season of waiting, may we are satisfied alone only by His presence; He, Himself is the Giver and the Gift at once for all mankind & our desire.
